Initial Rehabilitation Needs Assessment
A thorough assessment of a person’s medical, psychological, physical, vocational and social status. This process involves the worker, treating health professionals and referrer. The assessment is the basis for identifying strengths and challenges, determining direction, setting realistic goals and timeframes for recovery and return to work plan.
Worksite Assessment
A worksite assessment is conducted to assess worker’s duties and/or identify suitable duties for an injured worker to perform, to remain at or return to work. The assessment may also make recommendations about ergonomic issues such as workstation or equipment modifications, changes to work practices and optimum work posture. A concise user-friendly report with recommendations is provided.
Return to Work (RTW) / Case Management
A RTW plan provides direction for all parties and is documented prior to RTW. Medical approval is essential. JRJ closely monitors the return to work plan and will upgrade or alter the plan as required. At all times we maintain close liaison with the employer, insurer, doctor and injured worker.
WorkSafe have developed the following Occupational Rehabilitation animated video, designed to explain in basic terms what OR is, how it will help and what workers need to do.
